Programs
Montessori-educated children learn the factual information in reading, writing, mathematics, science, geography, and history. Classes in art, music and physical education are also included. The difference is not so much what is taught, but in how...
These teaching material fills the child's need to see and to do for himself. Perhaps most important, they present factual learning not as a series of separate subjects, but show these subjects in their totality and interrelationships just as they are found in human life.
Children can attend our program from ages 2 1/2 to 5 years old. Researchers agree that while intelligence is not fixed at birth, the greater part of intellectual development occurs before the age of six. Intelligence can be stimulated by a growing input of sensory stimulus. The child needs to move, manipulate, explore and store impressions to be classified by him later on. AMS fulfills these needs to help a child grow intellectually, emotionally and socially.
We offer both an Early Childhood Program and a 4 and 5 year Kindergarten Program. The programs are from 9am to 12noon, with the option of an extended day to 3:30pm. Before-Care from 7:30 am. and After-Care to 5:30pm are also available.
